Samnak Song Tham Khao Khiao (an unofficial temple) was once very famous and crowded with faithful devotees, but now it's a shadow of its former glory.

I visited this place last year. Sadly, it becomes abandoned, where hundreds of statues are left behind due to the argument of encroaching forest. Today, it's under the supervision of Thai Army Special Force. 

Evidence that reveals its former glory is many statues lining along the way to the hillsides. There are many religious statues, for example, The lord Buddha, Buddhist monk, Hindu god, Chinese god, hermit or even dragon. 

Honestly, I was very surprised to see dragon statues here, because they looked like the ones I found in a theme park.

For travellers with limited time, who want to travel close to nature and soak up beautiful views from the surrounding mountain area, this place is a pefect choice if you stay in Bangkok or Ayutthaya.

You might not know this place isn't far from Bangkok, 126km from Bangkok Don Mueang Airport (DMK), and 65km from Ayutthaya. When you reach there, you might meet a man who takes care of this place and dogs. Don't worry, they're friendly. Dogs are very happy when they see travellers.

The day I went there, some dogs followed me to the top. We walked together that made me happy. Before l left, I wanted to share my food with them, it was a pity I didn't have any food left.

สำนักสงฆ์ถ้ำเขาเขียว

เราได้มาที่นี่เมื่อปีที่แล้ว ช่วงเดือนพฤษภาคม พ.ศ.2565 ที่นี่กลายเป็นสำนักสงฆ์ร้าง เนื่องจากมีข้อพิพาทที่เกี่ยวข้องกับกรมป่าไม้ ในอดีตที่นี่ถือว่ามีชื่อเสียงมาก และอยู่ภายใต้การปกครองของปู่ฤาษีขี้เถ้า ปัจจุบันท่านได้ย้ายไปตั้งสำนักปฏิบัติธรรมแห่งใหม่ ชื่อว่า สวนธรรมธัมรัตโน จ.ระยอง ซึ่งดูยิ่งใหญ่อลังการกว่าที่นี่มาก

เป็นที่น่าเสียดายที่สถานที่แห่งนี้ และรูปปั้นต่างๆ จำนวนนับร้อยองค์ถูกปล่อยทิ้งไว้ แต่ปัจจุบันอยู่ภายใต้การดูแลของทหารหน่วยสงครามพิเศษ 

ป้ายบอกทางหน้าวัด จะเป็นป้ายหินสีขาวด้านบนมีพญานาคสีทอง เขียนว่า "สำนักปฏิบัติธรรมศูนย์สงครามพิเศษ (ถ้ำเขาเขียว)" ตลอดทางไปจนถึงบนเขามีรูปปั้นเรียงราย ซึ่งสะดุดตาแก่ผู้คนที่ขับรถผ่านไปมา โดยเฉพาะรูปปั้นสมเด็จโต ซึ่งมีขนาดใหญ่มาก 

เมื่อขับรถเข้าไปด้านใน จะมีหมาวิ่งเข้ามาหา กระดิกหางใส่แบบดีใจมาก และมีผู้ชายคนนึง ซึ่งได้เข้ามาดูแลที่นี่ เราสามารถจอดรถไว้ที่ลานด้านล่างได้เลยค่ะ ถ้าเพื่อนๆ แวะมาเที่ยวที่นี่ ก็เอาอาหารติดมือมาให้น้องหมาบ้างนะ

ตลอดทางขึ้นเขา มีบันไดขึ้นไปจนถึงด้านบนสุด เมื่อไปถึงด้านบนจะเห็นรูปปั้นที่ทำเป็นปากมังกร และมีห้อง ซึ่งภายในมีเต็นท์ของพระสงฆ์ และรูปปั้นเทพจำนวนนึง แต่ประตูถูกล็อคไว้นะคะ 

เมื่อชมทัศนียภาพด้านบนแล้ว เราสามารถเดินลงไปอีกทางได้ ซึ่งจะต้องเดินผ่านซอกหิน ภายในค่อนข้างมืด แต่ก็ไม่น่ากลัวนะ เราถือว่าคุ้มค่ามากที่ได้ขึ้นมาด้านบน
