Wat Prachotikaram is better known to the public as Wat Prachot, located in Bang Kra Bue sub-district, 5 km from The City Pillar Shrine.

Legend says a man named Singhapahu had the temple built. Singhapahu was a human like his mother, while his father was a lion. When he got older, he was deeply embarrassed to admit that his father was an animal.

Therefore, he killed his father, and not long after he started to repent. Later, he had three temples built to atone for his sin such as Wat Prachot, Wat Salabap, Wat Phranon Chaksri.

He also had Buddha statues built, named Luang Pho Sap and Luang Pho Sin. The two Buddha statues stand in a one-story building, that is called viharn.

Both of them are Sukhothai style Buddha statue, in the gesture of forbidding the relatives from fighting. And they're in the same line, facing the front door - LP Sin is at the front of LP Sap.

Time passed, LP Sin was seriously damaged and almost toppled. When a novice walked past, he asked villagers to help put the stick to support LP Sin. He then prayed that he would come back to restore LP Sin, if he succeeded in business. Several years ago, that novice went back to redeem his vow.

LP Sap & LP Sin are beautiful ฺlike the golden Buddha at Wat Trimit in Bangkok, that their beauty reflects Thai wisdom how they could imagine and create such a beautiful Buddha statue.

Apart from LP Sap & LP Sin, there is a goddess of boat near the entrance door, who protects crew on board. Most of the visitors always give a flower garland and offerings to the goddess, because they believe the goddess will bring them good luck or give them a lucky number.

วัดประโชติการาม

วัดนี้อยู่ ห่างจากตัวเมืองแค่ 5 กม. ขับเลียบคลองมาเรื่อยๆ วัดจะอยู่ทางขวามือ ชาวบ้านเรียกวัดนี้ว่า "วัดประโชติ"

ตามตำนานเล่าว่า วัดนี้ถูกสร้างโดยสิงหพาหุ ผู้ที่มีพ่อเป็นสิงห์แต่มีแม่เป็นคน วันนึงเมื่อสิงหพาหุโตขึ้น เขารู้สึกอายที่ว่าพ่อของตนเป็นสัตว์เดรัจฉาน จึงได้ฆ่าพ่อตัวเองเสีย แต่ต่อมาเขาได้สำนึกผิดและสร้างวัดเพื่อเป็นการไถ่บาป โดยได้สร้างวัดไว้ 3 วัด ใน จ.สิงห์บุรี ได้แก่ วัดพระนอนจักรสีห์ วัดสละบาป และวัดประโชติ

ต่อมาสิงหพาหุได้สร้างพระพุทธรูปยืน 2 องค์ นามว่า "หลวงพ่อทรัพย์ และ หลวงพ่อสิน" ปัจจุบันพระพุทธรูปทั้งสองถูกประดิษฐานในวิหารของวัดประโชติ เป็นพระพุทธรูปในกลุ่มพระอัฏฐารส คือพระยืนที่มีความสูงเกิน 18 ศอก ความพิเศษคือ เป็นพระพุทธรูปยืนซ้อนกัน 2 องค์ โดยหลวงพ่อสิน อยู่ด้านหน้า หลวงพ่อทรัพย์

ในอดีตหลวงพ่อสินอยู่ในสภาพทรุดโทรมมาก เมื่อเณรรูปนึงผ่านมาเห็น จึงได้ชวนชาวบ้านมาช่วยกันหาไม้ค้ำองค์พระ และเณรรูปนั้นได้อธิษฐานว่า หากภายหน้ากิจการของเขาเจริญรุ่งเรือง (โรงพิมพ์ ส.ธรรมภักดี ขายหนังสือธรรมะ) เขาจะนำเงินมาช่วยบูรณะองค์พระ

ต่อมาเณรรูปนั้นก็ได้กลับมาทำตามสัญญา ปัจจุบันสามเณรองค์นั้นก็คือ ท่านมหาสม พ่วงภักดี

นอกจากพระพุทธรูปยืนแล้ว ยังมี หลวงปู่โอ่ง ซึ่งเป็นโอ่งโบราณศักสิทธิ์ ปัจจุบันโอ่งนี้ใช้ใส่น้ำพระพุทธมนต์อยู่ในอุโบสถ ซึ่งอุโบสถอยู่ด้านหลังวิหารที่ประดิษฐานหลวงพ่อทรัพย์ หลวงพ่อสิน แต่ปกติอุโบสถจะถูกปิดไว้
