It's a small temple, located in Talingchan area, just 1 km from Wat Krajomthong. But travelling to this temple isn't easy if you don't have a car, because it's quite far from the main road.

The day I visited the temple, I took the BTS Skytrain and got off at Bangwa station. I then took a taxi to the temple, I paid 60 baht (no traffic jams).

This temple is located by Bangnoi canal. It was probably built in the Ayutthaya period around 1777, originally called "Wat Taphan". In the past, it was attacked by Burmese invaders. 

Sandstone Buddha and three ancient Buddha statues were found in the temple compound. The three Buddha are called Luang Pho Toh , Luang Pho Klang, and Luang Pho Dam, enshrined in an open pavilion near the old ordination hall. 

As for the new ordination hall, it's located near the temple entrance. The temple invested about 30 milion baht to create it, it's very beautiful. It's too bad that it isn't open to the public.

Wat Saphan Floating Market

When you reach there and see the temple gate, you might wonder whether a taxi driver drops you at the wrong location, because it's quiet. 

Don't hurry to get out of the car, ask him to drive deeper, and you will find a floating market. 

However, if you arrive at the temple in the early morning, there is nothing to see. The market is called "Taladnam Wat Saphan", open 8.30 am - 3.00 pm on Saturday Sunday and public holidays. 

This market is very local, small, and has no tourist crowds, that you can experience real Thai. If you are looking for cheap and authentic Thai food and desert, this market is another choice. A few vendors sell fresh food from their boats, you just sit beside the boat and order some Thai food.

วัดสะพาน และตลาดน้ำ

วัดนี้เป็นวัดเล็กๆ ตั้งอยู่ในเขตตลิ่งชัน ห่างจากวัดกระโจมทองแค่ 1 กม. แต่การเดินทางมาที่นี่ไม่ง่ายเลย ถ้าไม่มีรถส่วนตัว เพราะวัดอยู่ห่างจากถนนใหญ่พอควร เรานั่งรถไฟฟ้าบีทีเอส BTS มาลงสถานีบางหว้า จากนั้นก็ต่อแท็กซี่มาที่วัด ค่ารถประมาณ 60 บาท (เรามาตอนเช้า รถไม่ติดนะ)

วัดนี้ตั้งอยู่ริมคลองบางน้อย เป็นวัดเก่าสมัยอยุธยา สันนิษฐานว่าสร้างในปี พ.ศ.2320 เดิมเรียกว่า "วัดตะพาน" สมัยก่อนนั้นบริเวณพื้นที่วัดนี้ก็ถูกพม่าโจมตี มีการค้นพบพระพุทธรูปหินทราย และพระเก่าแก่อีก 3 องค์ ได้แก่ หลวงพ่อโต หลวงพ่อกลาง และหลวงพ่อดำ ซึ่งพระพุทธรูปเหล่านี้ถูกประดิษฐานอยู่ในศาลาเปิดโล่ง ใกล้กับอุโบสถหลังเก่า

ส่วนอุโบสถหลังใหม่ ซึ่งอยู่ติดกับประตูทางเข้าวัด ใช้งบประมาณในการก่อสร้างถึง 30 ล้านบาท สวยงามมาก แต่เสียดายที่ทางวัดไม่ได้เปิดให้คนทั่วไปเข้าชมนะคะ 

ตลาดน้ำวัดสะพาน

เมื่อมาถึงประตูทางเข้าวัด อาจจะงงๆ นิดนึงว่ามาถูกที่หรือเปล่า เพราะวัดดูเงียบๆ อย่าเพิ่งรีบลงจากรถ ขับรถเข้าไปข้างใน ตลาดน้ำอยู่ด้านในวัด และแม่ค้าจะพร้อมใจกันขายของ ประมาณ 8.30 - 15.00 น. ตลาดน้ำมีแค่ เสาร์-อาทิตย์ และวันหยุดนัตฤกษ์

ตลาดน้ำวัดสะพานเป็น ตลาดน้ำเล็กๆ ของไม่มากนัก แต่ได้บรรยากาศแบบบ้านๆ คนไม่พลุกพล่านด้วย สินค้าส่วนใหญ่จะเป็นของกิน ราคาถูก โดยเฉพาะขนมไทย ซึ่งมีหลากหลาย มีจุดให้นั่งพักผ่อนหลายจุด และให้อาหารปลาด้วย
